IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Does Noah really build the boxes?
YES! He absolutely does. He handpicks the redwood, loads them into a truck, unloads and wheels them into the backyard and gets to work. Yes, he cuts them on the new mitre saw he purchased and starts building. Unfortuntaley Noah isn't aware of labor laws, so dad helps, but does not get paid. Rumor has it Noah's dad has considered reporting Noah to the authorities. :-)
  • What are the dimensions and how much do they cost?
The most frequently purchased boxes are the 6' x 2' with legs, and The Big Box, a 6'x4' that works well on the ground. Both cost $250. However, they are custom-built, so Noah has also created different sizes, including; 4' x 2', 4' x 1', 3' x 2'. Each is priced based on the material used and building time.
  • What do I need to get my garden started?
First, you'll need a beautiful custom-built Redwood Raised Garden Box from Noah. Then you'll need to line the box with a pourous material that will allow air to flow in and water to flow out. It is optional, but reduces any seapage. And most important you'll need soil. Anything from natural soil, to compost or organics from yard. Noah's brother will set up your garden for an additional fee. He will purchase, deliver (40 lb bags), line and fill your garden box with three different types of soil. He uses the following Kellogg brand organic soils: Garden Soil (3 cu. ft bags) for the bottom of your garden box as a general all-purpose soil made with wood fines, caputring the benefits of the forest floor. Raised Bed & Potting Mix - Premium Container Mix (2 cu. ft. bags), a specially formulated for veggies and herbs in raised beds and containers. It also used wood fines to retain moisture, pest and disease resistance and to reduce soil compaction. Proven organic - OMRI listed. Amended Garden Soil - It adds a natural fertilizer charge from bat guano, worm castings and kelp meal. This sustainable ingredient, with added gypsum and rice hulls, helps reduce soil compaction and retain moisture, reducing the need for frequent watering. It helps establish strong rootts. Proven organic - OMRI listed.
  • How do you protect from gophers?
Noah will be happy to build your raised garden box with chicken wire undernearth for a small extra charge.
  • Do the boxes come with bottoms?
The short answers is no. The Big Box (6' x 4') on the ground is made with an open bottom. However, each is custom-built, so if you'd like to add a bottom, Noah would be happy to. They are normally left open when planting will happen on the ground. However, when planting on concrete, patios, rocks, etc, Noah get's the ocassional request for a bottom.
